2 St James Gate

2 St James Gate is a multi-let office building owned by Palace Capital, situated close to Newcastle Central Railway Station.

The project involved a comprehensive refurbishment of the main entrance hall on the ground level. The scope of the project included Interior Design and Interior Architecture services by FLINT-London, with the goal of improving the sense of arrival, creating a more contemporary space leading to the newly refurbished Grade A office spaces on the upper floors. The end result is an impressive entrance hall that sets the standard for the rest of the building.

The scheme incorporates several characterful surface finishes including large format hot rolled steel feature walls from Isomi, with elegant inlay details in patinated brass and textured porcelain ceramic tiles, to give the space a modern feel.

The walls are complemented by a folding geometric profiled timber ceiling, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The space is further enhanced with eye-catching decorative elements, including shimmering bronzed brass mesh, matching desk and coordinating chandelier lighting.
