Valuing environmental responsibility, staff wellbeing and disability inclusion, the leadership at GIB Asset Management challenged Peldon Rose to design a workplace representative of these values, designed for a London-centric workforce, whilst acknowledging the Middle Eastern heritage of the company.
A key objective for the client was to create an impactful area for clients, colleagues and visitors. Understanding that the workplace reception would operate as a multi-functional space to host meetings, greet clients and entertain high-profile guests often from overseas, the space needed to be flexible and well-resourced.
Isomi supplied the bespoke reception desk, working with Peldon Rose to deliver on their design intent while remaining in budget. The desk has an organic quality employing soft curvature to create the illusion of the desk blooming from the bronzed brass plinth. Largely following the open seating area behind it, the bespoke desk features a slight angle leading it to meet the timber slat wall.
The dramatic sweeping upstand creates a point of visual interest while also allowing for larger translucent branding to make an impactful statement in a pared back design.
Avonite Artica was chosen for the desk finish as the speckled appearance referenced natural stone largely used in Middle Eastern design schemes, and the off-white base supported translucency. Artica was also use for the under desk storage fronts creating a consistent visual experience.
The high-quality finishes and careful attention to detail installed is maintained throughout the workspace, featuring opulent lighting and geometric designs.
