The German American Chamber of Commerce’s (GACC) Midwest Chapter relocation to 150 North Michigan saw Eastlake Studio appointed to create a more flexible space to support local staff, and to welcome the many companies GACC host from abroad.
The Eastlake Studio design team developed a concept around building blocks, highlighting the unique architectural geometry of the building, and planning the layout using the form-follows-function Bauhaus principle. The deep navy lift lobby, punctuated with warm lighting, draws visitors towards the bright reception area featuring a custom Isomi reception desk in hot rolled steel.
Specified with an upstand of 1100mm the front of the desk features a recess to house two TV screens sitting flush with the hot rolled steel while also accommodating dual sit/stand solutions for front of house staff.
Neutral finishes keep the focus on the 9’ foot tall slanted glass wall that fills the area with natural light and unobstructed views of Millennium Park and Lake Michigan.
